Join us on April 18-19, 2019 for our 11th annual Murder Mystery Weekend in the Western White Mountains. This year, our theme is “Death & Taxes,” where a “snitch” informs the I.R.S of tax evasion and a mysterious death occurs. Channel the likes of Sherlock Holmes and help solve this crime!
“No, the I.R.S agent does not end up dead in this mystery of greed, betrayal, and revenge. At the first of the year several businesses and a few individuals received letters from the I.R.S informing them that they were being investigated for possible tax fraud. Seems someone in town has reported them to the government in order to receive a finder’s fee. No one know who the “snitch” is but everyone denies cheating on their taxes when the I.R.S comes into town for questioning. But then a local banker ends up dead and they are all suspects in the murder!”
The annual Murder Mystery Weekend starts Saturday morning at the Indian Head Resort where you will pick up all the information you need to get you started on solving the mystery. We have local community members in costume scattered throughout town that you can “interview” to see if they can reveal more information on the crime. The clue book and town map will provide you with some necessary information, like where to search for clues and where you can find the suspects.
You’ll have all day Saturday to run around town searching for clues and interviewing suspects. There are over 20 different clues so bring your notepad and sleuthing hat! Don’t forget to visit the crime scene. If you have some lingering questions, you can mingle with all the suspects at the optional dinner event Saturday evening at the Indian Head Resort.
On Sunday morning, you’ll head back to the Indian Head Resort for the reveal of the coroner’s report. While the event is entirely free to play, you’ll have to pay $10 for an arrest warrant. The grand prize winner will win a weekend package in the Western White Mountains for use during the summer months. Additional names will be pulled from a hat for raffle prizes. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Western White Mountains Chamber of Commerce.
Once the suspect is revealed, the local police will show up and take him or her away in handcuffs! Last year just over 200 people played the game, and we look forward to having much more this year! Our Annual Murder Mystery Weekend is the perfect excuse to visit Lincoln-Woodstock for the weekend. You’re guaranteed to have tons of fun!
